How it WorksAn intelligent, easy to use software agent is installed on a server at your site. IP Systems configures the rules for each backup event and can manage the ongoing backups and restore events, as required. Following these rules your data is aggregated, encrypted and compressed, then transmitted from your premises to our secure carrier-grade data centre. This transfer can be scheduled to occur at a time that suits you best, for example out of hours or when bandwidth utilisation is low.
How Secure is my Data?IP Systems operate carrier-grade data centres with a high level of physical security, back-up power and redundant network connectivity. Your data is stored in a secure partition using a RAID5 disk array. If you want a higher degree of reassurance a second remote instance of the data can be kept in an additional data centre.
RecoveryRecovery of data is quick and efficient, whether on-line via the software agent accessing the storage unit or recovered from DVD or other media.
You can recover all your files to a point in time – for example, recover ALL files as they were two days ago, two weeks ago or two months ago, or you can recover a selected set of files or directories. This can all be managed yourself using the Backup Software Agent.
